The trail bordering the river was fresh with budding poppies mounding within the slanted levee. A shift in social gatherings, they both welcomed strolling along the gravel path with a view over standing in a queue at 11:00pm. She called out names of trees that branched over giving shade and native wildflowers sprinkling the hills. After years of friendship, she loved learning something new about her.
Plants are sacred entities in our earth that provide natural healing remedies, purify our environments, and remind us of the organic beauty our planet is capable of growing. Personified and affected by its surroundings, plants teach us to live simply and thrive in the appropriate conditions.
Incorporating nature into your home brings a sense of organic warmth into your decor while simultaneously releasing health agents. Leoluna lists a handful of plants that are loved in the home for their beauty and benefits.
Climates, regions, and lighting are contributing factors to the longevity and growth of plants, so the following types of plants focus on the benefits of cleansing spaces where we take our greatest breaths.
In combination with keeping a tidy home with minimal clutter and completing routine maintenance, toxins, mold, and other detrimental particles settle into our homes and eventually into our lungs. Plants with the nickname “air plants” can help you breathe with ease until you’re outdoors for your next forest bathing session.
Leoluna wants your home to be a part of your lifestyle that brings peace and beauty. The following plants all have special benefits and are listed in no particular order. Fill your home with health and love.
- Pothos

Buy a small starter and you will have an endless supply of Pothos plants. Easy to propagate and sustain, this bright green and glossy leafed plant purifies your home by releasing oxygen 24-7 with very little watering or attention.
Pothos plants can be kept trimmed to have a full look or can be guided into a vine perfect for lining bookshelves or cabinets. The draping of the leaves offer a natural cascade of organic decor.
- Areca Palm
In its natural tropical habitat, the Areca Palm can grow up to 35 feet tall with thin delicate leaves similar to blades of grass. In the home, the plant works perfectly as a potted friend in the kitchen where natural light is plentiful.
This palm releases oxygen full time and increases humidity levels to benefit our breathing. All it needs is weekly watering with a spritz to prevent dry leaves and the palm will grow into a statement piece for the living room or island centerpiece in the kitchen.

- Spider Plant
You will love this plant. In addition to the Spider plant giving us a safe home by removing chemicals such as formaldehyde, xylene, and carbon dioxide from our air, this plant is very low maintenance and does well in the darker spaces of any room.

Thin dual colored grass like blades stretch from the center for a mounding like structure that cascades beautifully over any pot. The cutest part of the spider plant are the shoots that annually bloom tiny white flowers and then baby spider plant saplings. Spider plants are placed best where they have 360 degrees to grow so your entryway, bedroom, and living rooms are best placement.
- Peace Lily

Influenced by the name, this plant angelically thrives in indirect sunlight, consistent watering, and love. The long stems reach high to bloom candle flame shaped flowers that represent prosperity and inner happiness.
The non allergenic flowers reduce mold spores and the large dark green leaves produce a lot of oxygen while calming the home. You can put the Peace Lily in any room but east facing windows are preferred.
- Snake Plant
Sturdy thick blades that twist upwards into points, the Snake plant is the ideal plant to add height to a table, desk, or counter and larger plants make for a stunning entrance greenery. Like natural skyscrapers, some types of Snake plant can tower up to 8ft and need minimal water and light.
Snake plants filter your home’s air by removing pollutants like benzene and impurities like ammonia. Placement in the bedroom is also a good idea because they decrease airborne allergens which can improve your breathing while sleeping.

Leoluna’s list of house plants are easy to care for, lovely to look at, and will purify your home while releasing ample amounts of oxygen. You may already have a couple in your bedroom but some may argue, you can always find room for dessert and a few more plants.
Leoluna loves you~
